I’ve been privileged to of worked on some of the world’s most prestigious productions. However, being part of La Perle has been a highpoint of my career. Seeing a skeleton site transform into an incredibly beautiful and amazing theatre, you’re only left with admiration. The acceptance of understanding then the number of skilful people, time, hardship and challenges that were faced to reach a goal as big as this.
Built in the heart of Al Habtoor City, it is truly the first of its kind. With a cast of up to 65 artists, each brining their own unique skills, ranging from acting, acrobats, aquatic and aerial stunts, La Perle is the regions first residential show. The theatre is fitted with 1300 seats from VIP, Gold, Silver and the Bronze area. I could only describe my first experience as exhilarating and nail biting. If you would like to visit the venue, I have shared the link; https://laperle.com/en/experience/
We were asked to support the Technical Production team with a man&van to transport some materials from a location where the artists was rehearsing, to the main theatre. Soon after we were providing a team of stage hands to work with the site Production team. This developed in to us providing further assistance with videographers, draftsmen and scenic painters on long term contracts.
Several times throughout the 10 months’ period, we were tasked with transporting up to 10 x containers worth of metal structures from one secure location and into the venue. This required careful logistical planning and delicate manoeuvring. A slight mistake would have meant a serious or fatal injury. By planning thoroughly and communicating with all team heads every step of the way, we always made sure we delivered safely and on time.
Post production, we are now assisting the Operations team on site by providing daily skilled personnels for inspection and maintenance works.
Working with Morris Basir was a charm; short notice request, long term staffing, sends good and competent people, competitive rates and listens to the client’s needs. Easy and efficient.
